Monitoring and evaluation are not “incidents” that happen at the end of a project, but rather are ongoing processes that help decision-makers better understand the effectiveness of actions. Collecting and analyzing important data on a periodic basis throughout the life of the project are very integral components of M&E. Communication is the constant engagement of all stakeholders-project owners, implementers and beneficiaries involved while reporting is about informing stakeholders, decision-makers and the public about progress in implementation of the strategic programme and its action plan.
Course Objectives:
1) To enable students understand and master the concepts and technical vocabulary of organizational and institutional communication, and be able to use that technical language during monitoring and evaluation of a project.
2) To enhance the capacity of the learners to design effective strategic communication plans, mastering appropriate skills and techniques such as defining goals and target audience, choosing proper dissemination strategies, drafting and presenting reports, and monitoring and evaluating results
3) To equip learners with increased oral skills, effective presentational skills, effective written communication skills-reports and press releases in order to offer a controlled and organized communication and information process from start, middle and end of the project’s M & E process.
